Skylark Shelters are all steel construction in a variety of standard shelter designs, plus completely custom designs. The specification included is for their prefabricated Renaissance shelters and needs to be modified to suit each project. Optional features include wind screens, information panels, signs, cupolas, railings, lattices, bike racks, and other custom items. Skylark shelters are especially suitable for bus and light rail transportation, parks, and recreational facilities. Central Denver Ironworks also makes pedestrian bridges and railings.

1.4 SUBMITTALS

1.5 QUALITY ASSURANCE

A. Design Engineer: Provide design by a professional engineer licensed in the State in which the project is located.

B. Manufacturer Qualifications: Firm with at least 5 years experience in design and manufacture of pre-engineered shelters and:

1.6 DELIVERY, STORAGE, AND HANDLING

A. Coordinate delivery requirements with Owner and other installers.

B. Store products in manner to prevent damage prior to installation.

C. Where products need to be stored outdoors, store off the ground and place so that water will drain.

1.7 WARRANTY

A. Provide manufacturer's warranty that shelter will not fail structurally due to defects in materials or design for a period of one year after Substantial Completion.

2.2 APPLICATIONS

A. Shelters: Pre-engineered, prefabricated all-steel shelters; column, rafter, and purlin structure, with steel roof panels, all flashing, trim, accessories, and fasteners required for a complete installation.

E. Roof and Wall Panels, Flashing, and Trim: Galvanized steel sheet, ASTM A 653/A 653M, hot-dipped galvanized to G90/Z275, minimum 20 gauge (0.9 mm) thickness; panels corrugated to "Denver" profile; matching covers on roof hips and ridges.

2.3 MATERIALS

3. Primer: Devoe Hi-Solids Alkyd Metal Primer, or equivalent.
4. Top Coat: Devoe Paints Catalyzed Aliphatic-Urethane, or equivalent.

SECTION C: EXECUTION BACK TO TOP

3.1 EXAMINATION

A. Do not begin installation until substrates have been properly prepared.
B. If substrate preparation is the responsibility of another installer, notify Architect of unsatisfactory preparation before proceeding.
C. Verify that anchor bolts set by other installers are located within required dimensional tolerance.

3.2 PREPARATION

A. Coordinate installation of embedded anchors and plates so that locations will be within required tolerances.

B. Clean surfaces thoroughly prior to installation.

C. Prepare surfaces using the methods recommended by the manufacturer for achieving the best result for the substrate under the project conditions.

3.3 INSTALLATION

A. Install in accordance with manufacturer's instructions.

B. Install straight, level, plumb, and true, without offset in plane between adjacent members.

C. Field welding is permitted at purlins and covers only; grind welds smooth and sand.
